Why invites should be important

July 24, 2017

Has it ever crossed your mind that invites and greeting cards are important. I have always kept all my greeting cards since the age of 10. I love the sentiment towards them and it make me appreciate life because that special someone is taking out time to select a card that reminds them of you!

As we can see cards and invitations have evolved over time, technology has a advanced and you can now make cards and invitations more personal and add your own touch to it. I am always thinking of new ways to customise invitations and cards, so I came across this site called Paperless Post and I was intrigued with what I saw. It's a great site if your thinking of planning an event, it's simple, quick and easy. you have so many options and styles to choose from the variety is limitless.

If I was going to plan an event I would definitely use this site as you can personalise invites and send them directly to their email, how good is that! Plus everything is online, so you don't have to worry about it getting lost in the post. Paperless Post haven't left those people if the dark who love to open a fresh colourful invite on quality paper behind, when you design a online copy you can make it into a paper copy. They even let you customise the envelope, which I have never seen before and you get to choose the lining of the envelope, how cool is that.

I feel like living in the blogging world you don't even need to be planning a big event with lots of people, you could be planning an major event to hit your channel or blog, like a new series and what better way to announce it then making your own personalised invite you can share with the world.

Wouldn't you love seeing your favourite Youtuber or Blogger announce big news with a personalised invitation or card, I know I would!

Here is some examples of how you can take your invites to the next level!

Designers that stood out: Giambattista Valli & Guo Pei

July 18, 2017

This is the last post of Haute Couture Week, I hope you enjoyed the previous posts I have written. Now this post is for two designers who stood out and caught my eye as I was following Couture week. These two designers are Giambattista Valli and Guo Pei, they are very different designers and I really like what they showcased on the runway.

Who's ready, I am! Let's Start with Giambattista Valli.

This collection is very floral with soft flowing fabrics. It's all about the volume, make it big and go home is a under statement when you look at Giambattista Valli's couture! I love the way he has used the fabric, it has been manipulated in a way that showcases volume.  The ruffles and layering really pulls the whole collection together.

I think if I could sum this collection up in a few words, I would say simple yet effective. He makes the dress design so simple but its not and that is what really brings this collection together.

Down below I have selected my favourite pieces from the collection.

I bet you thought this was the end but no! Yes we have one more designer to talk about, let's welcome Guo Pei to the blog. This is her first time on FashtasticFlare 😊

Now this is a collection that really stands out for the boldness and the statement hitting the runway. I think a woman who chooses to use metallic throughout the collection, she is definitely risking everything. I guess that is what I really like, but it does not surprise me that she loves the attention, as she made the Met Gala dress that Rihanna broke the internet over.

I love the colours used in this collection, I feel the ombre effect in the metallic is somewhat mermaid like. I also love how the metallic colours reflect under the light giving all kinds of tones and shimmer. There is so many styles to choose from, from strapless to off the shoulder, midis to maxi's with a twist.

She even included soft princess like dresses, so there is definitely a major contrast in this collection, it's like there is something for everyone. One thing to note is there has been a lot of hard work gone into this particular collection which has paid off, in my personal opinion. Guo Pei you should definitely take a bow and be proud of what has been produced!

Thank you for reading this post, I hope you enjoyed Haute Couture Week!

All good things must come to end, until next time! 😜

Zuhair Murad Haute Couture 2017

July 15, 2017

I am back with another post all about Haute Couture fashion. This time I am back with another favourite. Zuhair Murad has a particular style that he renovates every haute couture week but this couture is more specific. Shall I go on to explain what I mean by this, it's all in the detail.

The embroidery really tells you a story, I think in this modern day as fashion fanatics embroidery is really overlooked. Embroidery is a very intricate skill, that requires a lot of hard work. It's like an art piece, once you start working on it, you don't know where it will take you and you don't see the big picture. Then when the end is near it all comes together. That's how I perceive Zuhair Murad couture, the embroidery is a journey that makes you appreciate the little glimmers of sparkle you see in the light.

The thing I most admire about Zuhair Murad is his creativity in the detail of every garment he designs. I feel it really speaks to you, this collection reflects a royal theme, a sense of honour when wearing garments in this style. It's like you are attending a event of high stature when wearing a Zuhair Murad gown.

He has selected cold colours for this Haute Couture week, even though there are blues, purples and silvers. The beige looks toned down and definitely something you could wear in an icy mountain somewhere. This collection is given me winter vibes with a hint of mythical vibes. Whether your the snow queen or some princess in Game of Thrones, one thing you can guarantee you will appear in great grace and be admired by many!

Down below, I have selected my favourite dresses from this collection!

Thank you for reading my post, I hope you enjoyed!

Elie Saab: A Tale of Fallen Kings

July 14, 2017

When Haute Couture week hits the media, you can be sure to see a flow of posts hitting my blog! There is something about Haute Couture that I really love! I think it's where I get to see the greatest designs and work from my favourite designers.

On what better way to kick the Haute Couture posts with my favourite design, Elie Saab! This man never seems to disappoint, collection after collection and he hits the mark every time!

Let's take a moment to understand the name of the collection: A Tale of Fallen Kings. My interpretation of what he is trying to portray through the collection, is a sense of rebellion. Women feel empowered and feel like they can conquer anything. The cuts and designs show how women are fearless like warriors. On the other hand there are pieces that show great elegance, beauty and free spirit which really projects a tale that is being told!

This collection focuses on forest like colours, i.e blues, greens and black. Those colours really bring out the designs and the cuts, embroidery and embellishment really pulls the whole collection together. I like how there is something for everyone and there are so many styles to chose from.

Each dress represents styles from different eras, like what different princesses would have worn in different decades. I see velvet is a fabric that has come back, sheer is still standing strong from last season. Lace is creeping in here and there!

Whether it is a fashion week or a Haute Couture collection, for me, he is the designer to look out for. His collections never disappoint and I wonder what will he do next.

Down below, I have selected my favourite dresses that I have loved form this collection!

Thank you for reading my post, I hope you enjoyed it!

What Bollywood brought to the Cannes Film Festival 2017

May 31, 2017

This is sort of a tradition for my blog, and you may be like really why is that? Well when I first started to blog, my very first post was on the Cannes Film Festival, I spoke about what designers impressed me, with the dresses that were worn by celebrities. I know it has been a while and Cannes is now truly over. I wanted the event to end before I made a post about the Film Festival.

Now I don't know if you're aware, but I am Indian and have grown up with the Bollywood industry heavily. I love the old Bollywood films, but since university so like 2013 I stopped watching Bollywood films as the stories didn't really catch my attention. These three actresses I know and I have watched many of their films. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor are not new to my blog as I have mentioned them in previous Cannes post. However Deepika Padukone is new to my blog and probably new to Hollywood as she made that film, Return of  Xander Cage with Vin Diesel.

Now lets talk about what Bollywood brought to the Cannes.

Starting off with Sonam, apart from the fact we both share the same first name, her style has definitely improved at this Cannes Film Festival. She brought glamour by wearing very soft colours that made impact in the media. She wore two gowns that were heavily embroidered and intricate in detail, which I loved! I loved it more that she wore one of my favourite designer's dresses, these dresses are designed Elie Saab! He's amazing, I guess the second thing Sonam and I share is we both love Elie Saab dresses!

Let's talk about the dresses, so starting with the sultry gold dress, she definitely brought the edge out in this dress. The smoky eye gave it the middle eastern look, and the deep plunging neckline along with the gold radiance of shimmer coming from the whole gown, made everyone stop and admire her! This dress is a piece of art and Sonam Kapoor really did well, I'm happy she didn't accessorise with this dress as it would have took the attention away from the dress.

The pink blossom dress is a soft elegant gown, I just love the colour so light and fresh. The design looks effortless but you can see the hard work  gone into the dress. I feel the design is very simple and could easily be featured in a Bollywood film, I think it is the draping of the fabric on the sleeves, it's the way the fabric falls that reminds me of the freedom and fun you can have in such a dress. Now she did choose to accessorise with the dress, I think the hand pieces and earrings chosen really added the finishing touches to give it more of an Indian feel!

Onto to Deepika who currently is rising in the industry and making her break into the Hollywood industry, for me I am happy to see her growth as I watched her first film she made in Bollywood and this women has come along! I see she decided to make bold choices with the dresses she picked, not only did she pull it off the dark green look of her makeup really made a statement on social media, I have seen alot of people replicate her look!

The dark green gown by Brandon Maxwell who is new to this blog, I quite like the simplicity of the gown and how the design of the gown is really simple. A high thigh slit, to the one shoulder drapery ending in a large train behind her, truly effortless gown to pull off. Not everyone can give the gown an edge but Deepika definitely did.

The majestic purple Marchesa gown is absolutely mesmerising, I LOVEEE IT!😍
From her dark lip to tousled hair, she perfected this look, it's like the dress was made for! I love Marchesa gowns and I'm sure we can appreciate the effort Marchesa put into it, from the layering and pleating to the one shoulder detail again. Deepika sure loves here one shoulder dresses, good on her, she pulls them off with grace. I love how the embellishment is hidden within the material to show a mystery but also give you the sparkle in the right places!

I am coming to the end of this post, but I always think to leave something special for the big send off. What other way to end my post with the women herself Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, now I have watched many of her films Bollywood and Hollywood, Yes she has made some good films in her time!

She caused alot of traffic on social media when she wore the Michael Cinco gown that brought out inner Cinderella vibes. Now come on there have been many Cinderella style dresses in our time, and this one kind of makes it up there. It's not the my absolute favourite but it's an amazing dress by far. (My absolute favourite is Zac Posen Cinderella dress, which was wore at the Met Gala 2016, check it out if you're curious). The Michael Cinco Cinderella dress, definitely gave us princess vibes, and as she walked on the red carpet I did feel I was in some sort of fairytale!

This fiery Ralph&Russo gown gave me a Spanish sort of vibe to the red carpet. Maybe the reason for this is, the ruffle layered skirt reminded me of Spain. I love Ralph&Russo, I feel like their dresses always make a statement and the attention to detail in their designs are impeccable! The strapless embroidered bust is the icing on the cake, so simple but very effective!

Thank you making it to the end of the post and I hope you enjoyed my thoughts on the Cannes Film Festival.

Elie Saab - Couture Week

February 03, 2017

Hello everyone and welcome to a fashion inspired post. It has been a while since I have written a post like this, and recently as I was following Paris Couture Week I realised that I should share my thoughts with my fellow readers.

On to all things Couture,

If you don't already know I am a big fan of Elie Saab, he is one of those designers that can portray not only a story with his designs but they simply flow really nice together. This couture week really lacked freshness and the wow factor, but when I saw Elie Saab's collection hit the internet and I was left mesmerised and inspired.

He is definitely the designer who won couture week for me, and his gowns were not only amazing but each of them had a tale to tell! It is very hard as a designer to consistently please his audience with collection after collection but I feel Elie Saab truly knows what he wants to portray and we see this in every collection!

Lets talk colours, so in this couture collection, he has gone for stone, sandy, a bit of nude, fresh light blues. It's very subtle and light colours apart from the royal blue of course. The colours reflect a Egyptian kind of vibe which is what he is going for!

Now onto the designs, his attention to detail is one thing that never disappoints me, his signature embellishment and adding hints of sparkle to each dress is what makes him like no other designer. The dresses range from many different styles, from high necklines to strapless, from halter necks to long sleeves, from long gowns to thigh high slits etc. He has thought about everything and included distinct pieces that anyone can wear.

What I love is the variety of fabrics and designs that are reflected in this collection there is so much versatility, it's as if you have been transported to a time where Egypt was mixed with Arabian culture and I am left inspired by each and every piece he has created.

I have selected a number of his pieces that I felt left me mesmerised by the beauty in this collection

Feel free to leave a comment about your thoughts on Couture week.
